Christmastime over at ABNH!!

Hi there!

It's Christmas-come-early over at A Blog Named Hero!

We've got an amazing lineup of Guest Designers and awesome projects that we'll be sharing with you over the coming month!

Here is my card:

There's a back story...ready to hear it?!

Now that stamped "hello" might look familiar to you, but in a weird way. That's because it's a die. A new die exclusive to Simon Says Stamp.  I coveted it from the moment I saw it. The size, the script, everything. So I bought it.

Then, to save money, I had it shipped to a friend in the USA who had a few other things to send to me. Then, through various occurrences (mainly me continuing to purchase things and have them sent to this friend to save shipping costs lol), it ended up being at her house for several weeks. SEVERAL.

Eventually I asked her just to send me my Simon Says Stamp products (I couldn't wait any longer to play with them)...and they arrived about a week ago...Did I mention that we're moving house?! We're heading back to my home-city of Perth in Western Australia, we leave less than two weeks from now...Can you see where this is going?!

The package full to the brim of beautiful, exciting, FABULOUS Simon Says Stamp products finally arrived... around about 2 days after I'd packed my die-cutting machine.

So I spent about four days staring at this hello die, walking past it and side-eyeing it (to see if I could trick it into giving me an idea when it thought I wasn't looking, you see)... trying to figure out how I could possibly use it (because it's far to beautiful not to be used), without a die-cutting machine. I couldn't even emboss it!!!!!!!

I very nearly went through the piles of boxes in search of my Big Shot.

I very nearly gave up.

Then it hit me. Wouldn't it be wonderful if there were a matching stamp...*lightbulb*

With a little low-tac (or non-permanent) adhesive, I could use it as a stamp!!!!!

Now I'll admit, it took me a couple of tries to get it right, but I did it. and look how cool the results are!!!

For the colour splashes I used gelatos and water (and a little of the Faber Castell Aquarell Pencils for additional colour), Amy Tangerine Cut and Paste papers, a Neat and Tangled "holiday" sentiment stamp and some Hero Arts Black ink (it's waterproof you see)...and the rest, as they say is history!

Now I do hope you'll pop over to ABNH and check out the other amazeballs projects that are on today (I must've been drunk when I scheduled myself on the same day as Laura Bassen, Kelly Purkey and Jennifer McGuire!! Not to mention the other to DT ladies. Drunk I tell ya...) except I dont drink! *confused face*

Well I do hope you like it!! I'll be back next Monday with another project for the beginning of our Gifts Week on ABNH, but please be sure to stop over at ABNH every week day this month to see ALL the inspiration!!

See you again soon!

Stamping with the die was apparently a great idea; because it looks great.

I LOVE this! I saw it featured over at SSS (congrats!) and am so glad I hopped over to see how you made it. Your blog is full of amazingness. I have a feeling I'll be back often. :)
