Neat and Tangled Day 2 Release: Tiny Triangles

Hi again!

Welcome back to day 2 of

Today's set is called Tiny Triangles. This is such a fun, versatile set! Perfect for LOTS of different techniques and ideas.

I wanted to go with something modern and graphic, but with a fun soft twist.

I heat embossed the stamp, then used my Inktense watercolour pencils to colour in the triangles. I left a few blank for a fun effect.

Do head on over to the Neat and Tangled blog for a chance to win!

Hi!

Pretty simple fo this one! I had an itch to use my Prismacolour pencils on kraft cardstock, so that's what I did!

Love that effect.

Happy Birthday Hour Glass

Hi friends!

I'm here to share a card I made last week, using that fabulous Simon Says Stamp Hour Glass stamp set (from the February 21 release).

I wanted to make something clean, graphic and edgy but still bright and fun.

I stamped the main solid Hour Glass stamp, with Memento Luxe inks, coming in from both corners. As you can see, I overlapped a few of them. I love this look!

I'll definitely be playing some more with this idea.

Hope you like! I"ll be back soon :)

A little something I'm working on...

Hey y'all

I don't have much to share today, because I'm in the middle of about five projects, none of which are finished. But I thought I'd share something I'm working on

It will eventually be a mini album, full of photos of my girls, and some fun facts about them right now.
I've suddenly realised that so much of their nature, their little quirks, sayings etc, get lost in the business of life. I want to try to record that as much as I can.

I'm pretty certain the inside will be fairly simple, but for the cover I used this sweet Some Odd Girls image, Daffodil Fairy.

I coloured her in with Copics and Spectrum Noir markers (a combination), and then 'Did a Kathy Rac" on her. Kathy Racoosin does THE most amazing adjustments/embellishments to her copic-coloured images, with a white gel pen. I thought I'd give it a whirl. Its nowhere near Kathy's genius, but I just kept thinking "WWKD" (What would Kathy Do lol).
I'm pretty certain I"ll be trying that again, it was fun to add to the image with the gel pen.

I love the Some Odd Girl Images. So fun, playful, and those big eyes? They're just so sweet.

I'll be back soon with more images from inside, and plenty of other projects!

Take care!

Playing with Hourglass

Hello lovelies!

I'm here with a fun, bright card today, that uses the recently released Simon Says Stamp Hour Glass stamp set, the Medium Dots Stencil and the Birthday Balloons Sentiment set!

Here is the card:

I used a Gelly Roll pen for the 'string' holding the pennant. It doesn't show up so well in this shot, but that little touch of glitter really works well.

For the background, I used the Medium Dot Stencil, and a sponge dauber, and created my own, fun background. I love doing this, because I know it will match the front panel perfectly (because I used the same Memento Luxe Ink)

I think this could work well for lots of different birthday or celebration-just change the sentiment-events, being perfect for a child's, or even for a guy in your life (who says masculine has to be dark and serious?!)

Very easy to do!

I hope you like it!

I'll be back soon with some more cards from my playing session with the new Simon Says Stamp release goodies!  If you want to see the entire release, go HERE.

Bye!

ABNH Lurves Gossamer Blue!

Hi there!

Today over on ABNH, we're playing (read: rolling around in) GOOORGEOUS Gossamer Blue products, combined with Hero Arts (as usual).

Doing a collaboration with a company like Gossamer Blue is such a dream come true!! The kits are just divine and so FULL of delicious patterned papers, cut aparts, embellishments and even the stamp set is to die for.

The new challenge this week is
http://ablognamedhero.blogspot.com.au/2014/03/challenge-39-stencil-it.html

So you just need to use a stencil on your project, and you're good to go!

Here's my layout.

Here are some detail shots for you to see the two stencils and how I used them in a few different ways.

First of all I took a piece of white textured cardstock as my background, and used the Hero Arts Tweed Stencil, and I sprayed over it with a soft teal mist (you could easily use Hero Arts Mint Julep Ink for this step).

Then I moved the stencil up slightly and used Gold ink (Brilliance brand), and inked through it so the pattern was offset.

For some extra effect, I then flipped the stencil over and pressed down hard on it. This gives a nice soft 'negative' effect. It also resulted in some surprise (but loved) splatters :)

I inked up the Hero Arts La Letter woodblock Stamp (an old favourite!) with Mint Julep ink, and stamped it randomly around the background.

For an added cool layer, I took some vellum and used the same Gold Brilliance ink, and inked through the larger circles on the Hero Arts Borders Stencils.

This kinda reminds me of that gorgeous Dear Lizzy Polka Dot party collection vellum paper... but it's cheaper and I can make as much as I want!!

Lastly I added all my papers from the ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTELY GORGEOUS Gossamer Blue Collection pack, the stickers, the cutapart sheet (tag) and I layered them all till I was happy.

For added dimension I made sure to lift the edges and bend them a little. This gives nice movement to the page and doesn't make it look so flat.

A big HUGE thank you to

for being so very generous with their product, and allowing us to play with their beautiful kits (there will be much, much, much more playing :))

and also to our wonderful challenge sponsors
who are offering a

to one lucky entrant for our challenge! Go GO!!

Can't wait to see what you make with your stencils!!

Thanks for stopping by!
