ABNH Lurves Gossamer Blue!

Hi there!

Today over on ABNH, we're playing (read: rolling around in) GOOORGEOUS Gossamer Blue products, combined with Hero Arts (as usual).

Doing a collaboration with a company like Gossamer Blue is such a dream come true!! The kits are just divine and so FULL of delicious patterned papers, cut aparts, embellishments and even the stamp set is to die for.

The new challenge this week is
http://ablognamedhero.blogspot.com.au/2014/03/challenge-39-stencil-it.html

So you just need to use a stencil on your project, and you're good to go!

Here's my layout.

Here are some detail shots for you to see the two stencils and how I used them in a few different ways.

First of all I took a piece of white textured cardstock as my background, and used the Hero Arts Tweed Stencil, and I sprayed over it with a soft teal mist (you could easily use Hero Arts Mint Julep Ink for this step).

Then I moved the stencil up slightly and used Gold ink (Brilliance brand), and inked through it so the pattern was offset.

For some extra effect, I then flipped the stencil over and pressed down hard on it. This gives a nice soft 'negative' effect. It also resulted in some surprise (but loved) splatters :)

I inked up the Hero Arts La Letter woodblock Stamp (an old favourite!) with Mint Julep ink, and stamped it randomly around the background.

For an added cool layer, I took some vellum and used the same Gold Brilliance ink, and inked through the larger circles on the Hero Arts Borders Stencils.

This kinda reminds me of that gorgeous Dear Lizzy Polka Dot party collection vellum paper... but it's cheaper and I can make as much as I want!!

Lastly I added all my papers from the ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTELY GORGEOUS Gossamer Blue Collection pack, the stickers, the cutapart sheet (tag) and I layered them all till I was happy.

For added dimension I made sure to lift the edges and bend them a little. This gives nice movement to the page and doesn't make it look so flat.

A big HUGE thank you to

for being so very generous with their product, and allowing us to play with their beautiful kits (there will be much, much, much more playing :))

and also to our wonderful challenge sponsors
who are offering a

to one lucky entrant for our challenge! Go GO!!

Can't wait to see what you make with your stencils!!

Thanks for stopping by!
