Home decor item using Hero Arts

Hello again!

I just realised I have a project that I hadn't shared with you yet!

I made this for the ABNH Dear Santa Event, for the decor week. However, due to a technical error, the image was deleted from the post and I wasn't able to re-post it, because everything was still on a shipping container on it's way across the country!

So I thought I'd share it today.

I used Hero Arts Pen & Ink Christmas tree, Lawn Fawn snow :)

Here's a detail shot

I kinda love this. Hope you do too!

See you again soon!

getting my feet wet again

Hello crafty friends.

Wow, it's been a long time since posts. That's mainly because it's been a long time since I made anything.

I hate how mojo-less I've been feeling lately! Getting my craft space in order ASAP is top priority right now! I hate not having everything 'just so'. Time to get it finalised so I can get crafty!

Anyhoo, I sat down to have a bit of a play last night and these two cards came out.

Sorry in advance for the less than fabulous photos, I haven't got my photo tent set up yet (nor can I find my SLR camera to take the good shots :P  my life is in a box...)

My first card is very soft and subtle.

I had several of the Simon Says Stamp feathers, diecut out of a piece of thick vellum, and I saw it laying on my desk and thought it would make a great stencil. I was right! I love this effect!

Some Avery Elle flecked cardstock, Simon Says Stamp sentiment, Hero Arts inks :)

For my next card, something more graphic and masculine;

I diecut the feathers out of vellum, and stamped on them with the SSS Nautical Borders stamp.
next I diecut the 'thanks' out of white cardstock and  some navy blue woodgrain patterned paper from MME Cut & Paste 6x6, then put the blue positive diecut into the white negative space (so it fits in like a puzzle)

I layered it onto some Avery Elle aqua cardstock, then added a strip more of the MME paper and adhered the feathers!

For a finishing touch I added a border of Sakura glitter pen around the white panel and the feathers.

Well, that's it for me today! I'll be back again soon I hope!

See you soon!

Quick cards for bouquets

Hi lovelies!

Earlier this evening, my mum asked if I could make two small cards to put into two floral arrangements she had ready for two of her best friends.

I thought I'd share them with you here today because they were not only SUPER simple to make, but they were super fast, and as we enter into the silly season, I think we all need more quick cards in our arsenal.

Love how fast these were to put together but gosh they're lovely in real life.

There's a little Happy Birthday from the Simon Says Stamp exclusive stamp set too (can't remember the name LOL)

Love Avery Elle for making stamps that just about make the cards for you!!!!

see you again soon!~

Day 1: Everyday Labels + Giveaway!

Today's fun 4x6 set, You + Me,  and I just love the clean and simple style!! Venn Diagrams are what inspired Danielle to create this set but there are so many more ideas you could bring to life!

Here are the cards I made using this set :)

I love this little arrow patterned paper effect!

I'm totally obsessed with Ombre :)

A more masculine card, inspired by this post on pinterest.

And another more masculine card, I'm going through a terrible case of craft-lust totally loving Laura Bassen and Maile Belles and their ridiculous levels of talent with offset cardstock/super-simple designs.

Well that's it for me! Sorry the photos are a bit dark, I'm still without any of my crafting 'equipment' and I had to use my iphone to take these pics. Edited with the phone too lol.

Be sure to stop by the Neat and Tangled Blog to see the rest of the DT's amazing projects and be sure to enter to win a prize!!

Simon Says Stamp & Hero Arts goodies

Hi friends!

Sorry for being such a bad blogger lately, we've been packing the house frantically for our big move to Perth.

We arrived three days ago to this sky:

HOW'S THAT FOR BLUE?!

SO yes, we've been here four days. and the sky is still blue. Not sure what to do about that LOL (Melbourne weather is pretty grey and rainy)

So when I arrived, there was a huge HUGE HUUUGE box of crafty goodies I'd had sent to this address, waiting for me.  I'd been paying it off and paying it off and paying it off (and adding to it) for SIX MONTHS!!! So very excited to have it here.

HELLO LOVER.

So anyway, a LARGE part of the box was new Memento Luxe Inks, Hero Arts goodies, and Simon Says Stamp loveliness.

As soon as the grandparents took baby (which was pretty much immediately after we got off the plane lol), I got to 'work' on using my crafty goodies.

Here are a couple of cards I made.

With some Avery Elle Flecked and coloured cardstock as my base, I simply stamped the Hero Arts Star background, and added the little sentiment from Kelly Purkey (which I stamped on a separate piece of cardstock then cut out and mounted on foam tape)

Just as simple! Simon Says Stamp exclusive Chevron stencil (LOVE THIS THING!), some daubers to give a nice soft colour in ombre-stylin'. The sentiment is Simon Says Stamp too. I'm seriously in love with everything they release.

OK that's it for me peeps! I'll be back soon with the new Neat and Tangled Release in a few days!

Seeya soon!

Christmastime over at ABNH!!

Hi there!

It's Christmas-come-early over at A Blog Named Hero!

We've got an amazing lineup of Guest Designers and awesome projects that we'll be sharing with you over the coming month!

Here is my card:

There's a back story...ready to hear it?!

Now that stamped "hello" might look familiar to you, but in a weird way. That's because it's a die. A new die exclusive to Simon Says Stamp.  I coveted it from the moment I saw it. The size, the script, everything. So I bought it.

Then, to save money, I had it shipped to a friend in the USA who had a few other things to send to me. Then, through various occurrences (mainly me continuing to purchase things and have them sent to this friend to save shipping costs lol), it ended up being at her house for several weeks. SEVERAL.

Eventually I asked her just to send me my Simon Says Stamp products (I couldn't wait any longer to play with them)...and they arrived about a week ago...Did I mention that we're moving house?! We're heading back to my home-city of Perth in Western Australia, we leave less than two weeks from now...Can you see where this is going?!

The package full to the brim of beautiful, exciting, FABULOUS Simon Says Stamp products finally arrived... around about 2 days after I'd packed my die-cutting machine.

So I spent about four days staring at this hello die, walking past it and side-eyeing it (to see if I could trick it into giving me an idea when it thought I wasn't looking, you see)... trying to figure out how I could possibly use it (because it's far to beautiful not to be used), without a die-cutting machine. I couldn't even emboss it!!!!!!!

I very nearly went through the piles of boxes in search of my Big Shot.

I very nearly gave up.

Then it hit me. Wouldn't it be wonderful if there were a matching stamp...*lightbulb*

With a little low-tac (or non-permanent) adhesive, I could use it as a stamp!!!!!

Now I'll admit, it took me a couple of tries to get it right, but I did it. and look how cool the results are!!!

For the colour splashes I used gelatos and water (and a little of the Faber Castell Aquarell Pencils for additional colour), Amy Tangerine Cut and Paste papers, a Neat and Tangled "holiday" sentiment stamp and some Hero Arts Black ink (it's waterproof you see)...and the rest, as they say is history!

Now I do hope you'll pop over to ABNH and check out the other amazeballs projects that are on today (I must've been drunk when I scheduled myself on the same day as Laura Bassen, Kelly Purkey and Jennifer McGuire!! Not to mention the other to DT ladies. Drunk I tell ya...) except I dont drink! *confused face*

Well I do hope you like it!! I'll be back next Monday with another project for the beginning of our Gifts Week on ABNH, but please be sure to stop over at ABNH every week day this month to see ALL the inspiration!!

See you again soon!
