Challenge Me a Christmas Card!!

Hi there friends,

I'm excited to be here today, becaseu I'm joining my good friend Michelle Lupton, for her yearly Christmas extravaganza!

Every year, Michelle invites her crafty friends, to create a christmas card, based on a theme of their choosing.

This year I chose ALCOHOL INKS! So fun.

Here's my card:

I used the Hero Arts Bauble DI655 Poinsettia and Ornament Die, cut it twice and used my rainbow of alcohol inks on it, as well as some gold mixative.

I then diecut the Concord and 9th Merry Die, from some Yupo paper that I'd covered in gold mixative.

To pop them up I used some black fun foam, and added my silver cord...I wish I'd had gold but oh well! You gotta use what you can find :)

I love the blurry puddles and overlapping colours! I'd like to paint a whole wall like this!

I hope you'll head over to Michelles blog to see the gorgeous project she's made, I know she'll blow you away!

Thanks for stopping by!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas in July

Hi again friends,

Today I'm sharing a card with you that is up on the Hero Arts blog.

As I mentioned last time, we're challenging you to create a card thats themed Christmas in July, over on A Blog Named Hero, so this is another take on that theme.

I used the Hot Air Balloons from CM325 Sky’s the Limit stamp set, and turned them into baubles--nothing like stretching your stamps to use them in unusual ways!

I coloured them in using copic markers, then added extra details with a glitter gelly roll pen and white gel pen. I diecut a stitched circle and added my sentiment from CL722 Merry Christmas Messages.

I added my baubles, some on dimensional adhesive, and drew in the string and bows.  For the backing card, I took PS311 Hero Hues Premium Cardstock in Mist (How gorgeous is this colour!) and I repeatedly stamped the sentiment (from an older out of stock set, but any of your sentiment sets would work, or even snowflakes!) in a coordinating ink, for a lovely soft tone on tone look.

I hope you like it!

See you again soon,

May Challenge at A Blog Named Hero

Hi crafty friends!

WOW this month has F.L.O.W.N by. I do not like.

Here's my card for the new crafty challenge up on A Blog Named Hero, we're so excited for Hero Arts who are celebrating their 45th anniversary!

To go along with their fun throwback mini-challenges that they've been holding, (where you guess the year of the catalogue), I thought I'd combine one of my oldest stamps (love that old Hydrangea woodblock!!) with one of my newest Hero Arts products, the Butterfly Confetti die.

I watercoloured it up using Hero Arts watercolours then fussy cut it out, and added a sentiment from the new CM355 From the Vault Cute Animals (from the brand new Summer catalogue! How Lucky am I?!)

Then I ran a piece of cardstock from the Hero Hues sampler pack through my diecutting machine, but with a rubber mat, so I embossed instead of diecut, the Butterfly confetti die.

For a final touch I splattered with some gold spray!

I hope you like it!

Talk to you again soon,

Linda xoxo

Embossing time!

Hi there crafty friends,

It's me again!

I'm here with a card I made to go along with the latest A Blog Named Hero Challenge, which is;

O.K here's my card-io (hah! If only it counted as cardio),

As you can see, I stamped the beautiful  CM261 Hero Florals Magnolia stamp, several times around the edge of the cardstock. I then heat embossed it with gold embossing powder. The sentiment is from  Hero Arts too of course.

Now this is the part where I added another hour or so onto my work-time, because I thought it would be a good idea to add some shading to all the flowers. ALL. THE. FLOWERS. I admit, it looks great in the end but boy-oh-boy was I questioning my sanity.

Anyhoo, for a final touch, I flicked over some gold metallic ink across the card front.

Super easy, and so effective!

So I embossed all the things, now it's your turn!! I'd love to see what you come up with, be sure to join us!

See you again soon,

Linda XO

A Blog Named Hero WINTER theme

Hiya!

I'm up on the A Blog Named Hero Facebook page today, and I've got a card that follows with the theme of WINTER.

I had one up a couple weeks ago, but forgot to share it here, so here 'tis!

I used my new-to-me Magnolia stamp, some kraft paper and my beloved Polychromos pencils for this one. Super simple, but gosh I love the softness of pencil colouring!

I'll see you again soon :)
