Lawnscaping card challenge #22!!

Hello!

just a quick post tonight as it's getting late and I'm starting to droop!

here is my (very last minute) entry for the current Lawnscaping Challenge #22!!

At first, I'll admit, I couldn't think of anything at. all. I love apples, I love autumn...but nothing came to mind. So I just let it stew for a bit (pardon the pun!) and this is what I came up with.
Apple tree + sack card

A cute little card, mostly very self explanatory. The only part that I can think might need explaining is the apple sack, which is an ATC sized piece of Sticky back canvas that I 'painted' with Frayed Burlap Distress Stain and then stamped on using Momento Ink and Lawn Fawn Sally's ABCs (my new favourite alphabet!!)  As you can see, I couldn't resist using my new Houndstooth stamp from Hero Arts on the tree either :)

I tied some jute twine around the corners of the canvas to make it look like a tied sack, but that ended up being removed because I had to re-size it. I still feel the twine would be a cute look so I might attempt it again on another card.

Here is the inside:

Houndstooth notecard set.

Hello!

It's a rainy old day here in Melbourne--which I can't believe since the city I've lived in for the last 6 years (and almost 23 years a few years prior to that) is almost always in the high 30's by now (that's Celsius too by the way!)

I would firstly like to say a very big thank you for all of your comments--I can't tell you how exciting it is to hear my phone chime and I get to read your kind words! They truly do bring a smile to my face.

Second of all, I want to wish my sweet complicated wonderful little Isabella a very very happy 4th birthday for yesterday! She had a lovely day surrounded by family and there were quite a few presents this year so she was so so excited. Happy birthday baby! (I'd also like to add that despite the fact that she turned 4, I haven't aged a day ... NOT)

OK! Onto the cards,,, I saw a fabulous Copic Colouring tutorial by the gorgeous Danielle over at her blog Neat and Tangled and decided I HAD to give it a go.

At first I just coloured a few butterflies in using Danielle's techniques:

Quelle surprise!! it worked perfectly! I still need a lot of practice, but just using her tips and techniques made SUCH a difference to my image.   So next i cut all those babies out.

At first I was only going to make one for my granddad, who I'm missing terribly, but I liked the one so much I thought I'd go for a set.

sorry for the bad photo, I'm going to need a bigger photo tent!

Here they are singularly---I'm totally crazily in love with this houndstooth stamp.

I made the detail on each butterfly a bit different for a point of interest:

On Miss Purple, white Enamel Accents on the dots and body.
On Miss Red, some sparkles (because red has to be sparkly :))
On Mr Blue and Green (because they're clearly boys lol) I kept it simple, white gel pen on the dots.
