Beat the Winter Blues Blog Hop!!

Hi friends!

We're so excited to be here today, because it's time to BEAT THE WINTER BLUES with a blog hop, celebrating a huge sale at one of our favorite online crafty retailers on etsy,  a2z Scrapbooking .

Their Sale section is jam-packed full of Hero Arts items that are 50% off!!

As if that's not enough, we have an extra discount code for an extra 20% off your entire purchase!!!
So hop along with us today (February 21st-US time), to see some fantastic, inspirational projects made using products you'll find in the a2z Sale Section!

You should have come here by way of the lovely, talented Christine!

Here are my cards (I got crafty and made three!!)

For this card I used the Hero Arts Tweed Background stamp.  I inked it up with Hero Arts Wet Cement Shadow Ink then I coloured certain 'sections' with Prismacolour pencils.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts You & Me Frames CL 590   (I just inked the sentiment inside the frame).

Up next, card number 2! I wanted something pretty and feminine :)

For this I stamped the Lisa's Painted Maple Leaf stamp, then coloured it with Prismacolour Pencils (You'll be able to see it better in the next card), I used part of the sentiment from the set Hero Arts Good Friends Catalog 2012 CL578

I added papers from the Basic Grey Fresh Cut 6x6 paper pad, and some crinkle ribbon from my good friend Chari. (LOVE this stuff!).  Lastly I added a little Wink of Stella. I had some trouble with it though, because I accidentally used the white one, not the clear. To try to rectify the situation, I wiped as much off as I could (that stuff STICKS!!), and then added a tiny bit of stickles. (this is why theres a slight white sheen in the photos. It's not as dramatic in real life)

and my last card for today

I think this could work as a wedding card, general hello card, sympathy, anything. Very versatile! I wanted to go very CAS but very airy :)

Here you can see the flowers I coloured in. (I diecut two tags from the one coloured piece). Same stamp and sentiment as the previous card, but quite a different look from the one coloured image!

Ok that's it for me today!!

All sets will be available for purchase today Thursday, February 20, at 8am EST. Be sure to stop by every day of the release for fun, inspiration, and giveaways!

Here is my project

Yup. another layout. Sorry if these are boring you! I can't get enough of scrapbooking lately :)

So as you can see I used the diamonds set as a cool embossed background.

I finally managed to track down some gold metallic embossing powder (this is the glittery kind) and boy oh boy, am I in love!

Lots of yummy layers of paper (all from the Basic Grey Fresh Cut 6x6 paper pad)
A few thickers (always feels good to rummage through my stash!), some Simon Says Stamp woodgrain cardstock.

How about some custom sentiment banners?? These are using the stamp set that was released by Neat and Tangled yesterday, called On the Corner Additions.

I do hope you'll pop on over to the main Neat and Tangled Blog!! Lots more inspiration to be found there.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Pretty simple!

ABNH loves Elle's Studio

Hello friends!

It's time for a new challenge over at A Blog Named Hero!

Today's challenge is simply, flowers.

as always, we are sponsored by the amazois
that means that one lucky, random winner will receive a $25 gift certificate

This month is also special for another reason. We are teaming up with Elle's Studio for the entire month! The design team will be using items from the new "Love You More" collection along with our beloved Hero Arts goodies. As you can imagine, they make a great pair!

http://shopellesstudio.com/

Here's my project!

how about some detail shots?

I wanted to create my own patterned paper, so I used the Hero Arts woodblock etched flower stamp and stamped it multiple times over a piece of Neenah white cardstock before heat embossing it with superfine black embossing powder.

Then I added Hero Arts Shadow Inks in Bubblegum, Butter Bar, Passionflower and Fresh Peach onto the flowers using a little dauber sponge.

Of course I'll add journalling, but I think layouts photograph better without my scrawl all over them!

These products were SUCH  a Joy to work with. I cant wait to make more

I do hope you'll head over to ABNH to check out the rest of the DT's creations! Gorgeous as always!

And maybe you could join in the challenge?! We'd love to see what you make.

See you again soon!
