Scrap Bundle cards 5, 6, & 7!!

Hello!

I'm back with the last of my recent Scrap Bundle cards. I was going to spread them out and show them to you one at a time, but I'm feeling generous, so I thought I'd give you all THREE of them at once :) For cards 3&4 go HERE, cards 1&2 go HERE.

I nearly NEARLY made this card with the potty-lady's head on the 'ground' in the card (like it had fallen off) but I wasn't sure it would 'translate'  I really love the simplicity. Sometimes the best 'sorry' is the simplest one :)

Sometimes I'm SO stupid when I make a card. I get an idea...then I overthink it. Till the idea basically shrivels up and dies. Then days later, I'll come back, fight with the papers some more, roll my eyes a bit, call the papers (and myself) some names...and I'll walk away again. THEN I'll come back a third time, say 'oh for goodness sake" (or a much less polite version of that sentiment) and make the card I originally had the idea for. And the card turns out great. Like I said, me not so smart.

The washi tape went on, then came off...then went back on again.

And apparently I was drunk when I 'drew' the faux stitching lines around the edge...or at least I hope I was drunk because seriously, look how crooked they are! (actually, no don't look)...

This is quite possibly the weirdest card I've ever made (design-wise) but I love it. The random strips, the splattery background, the googly eyes. the sentiment?! Makes me laugh out loud. I think I might make "spook on" a phrase I use a lot HAH!

Neat and Tangled Day Five Release!! Kindness Matters!!

Hi there!

I'm here today to introduce to you the new Kindness Matters stamp set from Neat and Tangled.

I need to take a moment to tell you--OHMYGOODNESSITSBEAUTIFUL

Sorry, got a bit carried away there. Didn't mean to yell :)

Very easy to make this one :) I masked off a section of the card, stamped the 'you are' sentiment from Kindness Matters, then added the SO THOUGHTFUL in red Memento ink, on the bottom right. I then cut my cardstock down to be 1/4" smaller than the card base, mounted it on dimensional adhesive and that was that!

This next card...well I'm kind of in love with it.

I was SO inspired by this magazine cover, and though you can't see it so well in this photo, the girl's tattoo was inspiration for the flowers on my card (the sentiment too)

Neat and Tangled October Release!! Day Four: Do Not Open

Hello!

 

I'm so excited to be helping introduce the new stamp sets from Neat and Tangled. My GOODNESS they are cute!! All sets will be available for purchase Friday October 5 at 8am EST in the shop!

Today we're focussing on the new Do Not Open set. (for a really good look at the stamp and a video of it in action, be sure to head over to the blog.)  Don't forget to comment on each day's blog posts for this release week, as there are some fabulous prizes to be won!

OK Onto my projects!!

I wanted to try to use the stamp set in a way OTHER than the more obvious, so I thought I'd make my own wrapping paper:

To make this, I simply took some natural (kraft) wrapping paper (this is in the supermarkets here in Australia, I'm sure its available everywhere). I stamped out a few ink colours to see what would stand out the best against the kraft background.

When I'd chosen an ink colour (Memento Love Letter and Hero Arts Grass Chalk Ink), I stamped all over the paper, being  sure to turn my stamp as I went. Then I added some white gel pen to the banner of the image, and then added stickles to the circular outline of the stamp. Finally I stamped some snowflakes from the new Santa's Notes set with white colorbox ink, and added some stickles to that.

The paper has a lovely textural, glittery look to it--so pretty in real life!

And now for my second project!

I cut a sheet of Neenah cardstock to size (about 2.25 x 3.25"), rounded the top corners with my corner chomper. I used Tumbled Glass distress ink and a foam blending tool to bring colour to the entire piece, and then added a small amount of Salty Ocean to the edges. Next I stamped the present and bow image repeatedly over the tag, using Tumbled Glass ink, this gives a nice tone on tone effect.

To give some extra interest, I gently spritzed some perfect pearlized water over the entire surface. I think it gives the look of  snow falling :)

Finally I added an eyelet with my crop-o-dile, stamped the 'gift' sentiment and added some neon twine, before attaching my Do Not Open images with dimensional adhesive.

Scrap Bundles cards 3&4 :)

HI!!!

I'm back with some more of the Scrap Bundles cards I made!

Given how much I "talked" last time, I'll just get straight to the cards today :) (yup, I'm sharing TWO!)



this card came together in literally five minutes. LOVE THAT!

This used a piece of Bazzille Cardshoppe card stock that I had sitting out. To give the banners more dimension, I added 3D pop dots to the bottoms of each flag. So cute in real life. And that sentiment?! Paper Smooches genius.



I wanted something really graphic and bright. Love how this turned out. LOTS of scraps here :)

Shopping Our Stash challenge #71!

Hey!

*this is my second post for today. for the first, see HERE*

It's time again for a new challenge over at Shopping Our Stash!

This week's challenge is GREEN!! Use the colour, or the theme (i.e. RECYCLE)

I chose to recycle AND use green the colour (tricky huh?!)

Here's what I made:

 

I thought it would be fun to make the top of the jar look like those gorgeous old fashioned lids with the gingham  fabric thats all puckered because of the twine wrapped around it, only I used washi!

Actually if I'm being honest, just about everything on this jar is washi :) The label is a Hero Arts diecut and stamp, the stickers are October Afternoon (I THINK)...the doily is from my stash, as is the twine/string.

The jar is from my recycling bin (just joking, its one I used and cleaned out just yesterday

Here's an idea of what you could use it for :)
