Pattern Play Day 1 card THREE!!

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.

Are you sick of me yet?! Well too bad! HAH! there are another eighty five cards to go. Not really, just a few more...or more than a few :)

 OK here 'tis:

GAH I love these papers. At first I nearly had a heart attack looking at them, they're SO beautiful and colourful. Then after I calmed down, I got down to business.

I heart this card. So clean, SO simple. and so effective.

Hope you like it as much as I do!

Back again in just a minute with card number FOUR

Pattern Play card 2

Hi again!

Back with card 2.

Same supplies, but I added some grey marker along the edge of the patterned paper to help it stand out.

So here is my card :)

Pretty simple, but the colours of the paper go so well together! The stamp is from the card kit.

I like the grey border, but it's a bit too dark. a much lighter colour would have been preferable. (or maybe trying this one out on a scrap of paper before committing it to the front of my carefully crafted card LOL

Back soon with the next one! (I warn you, there are MANY cards...)

*hugs*

Pattern Play Day 1:Homework (part 1)

Hi there!

So there will be several posts coming in rapid succession, all of which will have very few words.

Today was day 1 of the latest Online Card Class: Pattern Play.  Today's class talked about how you choose patterned papers to go together on a card.

It's only a week-long class this time but I really wanted to try to keep up with the "homework" and play along as I went. I always take the OCC classes when they're on but I never manage to work along with them.

Despite the fact that I'm a total sucker for patterned paper in general, I rarely use it on a card. I tend to use stamping to create my colours/patterns, so this is the perfect class for me. I'm forever staring at patterned paper, wondering how to make it into something 'me'.

So I'm going to show you the SEVERAL cards I made based on today's concepts.

I started out with the March Simon Says Stamp kit, that was VERY WONDERFULLY and generously given to me by a sweet sweet friend. (I wont mention who but THANKYOU DARLING!!!) I was so excited to get to play with the Lawn Fawn papers in the kit as well as the exclusive stamp set.

So that I can link my projects up to the student gallery over at OCC, I have to post each card in separate blog posts. (So, apologies for the sudden influx of nearly wordless posts :))

Ok onto card #1!

Nice and simple, but using the tips Kristina and Jennifer shared today, I'm really happy with the balance of the patterns, and the card in general :)

Hope you like! I'll be back VERY soon :)

sooo...

For those of you who aren't on twitter and don't "follow me" I thought I'd give y'all an update on why I've been so brainless lately and so LATE with all my DT work (which I absolutely HATE being, but recently it's just all gotten on top of me).

Here's why:

Meet Baby Trace

can you see that?! There's a head, spine, a hand that's waving HI!!!

I'm honestly, HAVING A HEART ATTACK. Three kids was NOT in the plan. My girls are such sweet little monkeys and I love them to pieces, but we had JUST decided to stick with the two...aaaaand then I peed on a stick lol. It will be wonderful.

I'll keep repeating that to myself :)

SO anyway, I've been hit hard the past three months with morning sickness and tiredness (is that a word?!), I could barely move. So crafting was WAY down on my list.

The sickness is 90% gone now, but the brainlessness has taken over. My goodness I.forget.everything!!

The worst part is, I'm convinced I've got everything under control, I have my calendar that I add things to as I need to...then I forget what day/week it is, or that i HAVE a calendar I should CHECK DAILY...*facepalm*

Anyhow I just wanted to let you all know, that's why I've been SO flighty and basically just LAME lately.

Hope you'll forgive me :) If not, blame the blob in the photo above :)

Talk to you soon
