Sending Hugs

Hi there!!

PHEW It's getting *HOT* in Australia, I'm already melting and dreaming of winter!

http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?u=634982&b=199868&m=24698&afftrack=&urllink=www%2Esimonsaysstamp%2Ecom
I was lucky enough to be sent one of the new products from the recent Simon Says Stamp release Create Joy and I thought I'd share a cute card I made using my new die.

Instead of using it as a die, I decided to use it as an embossing tool, and for an extra kick, I decided to use an unexpected colour-palette (in a way).

To start with I took the die, and ran it through my Big shot, with an embossing mat, instead of the cutting plate,  so that it pressed into the pale green cardstock. I repeated this process on the opposite corner of the cardstock and again on another scrap piece.

I then coloured in each of the flowers, but I decided to go with a soft tone on tone look, rather than the traditional bright red poinsettia :)  I used my Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils, but your Prismacolours of Spectrum Noirs would do the job beautifully too :)

I then cut out one of the flowers using scissors, because I wanted quite a clear border around the edge (i have to make things hard for myself!).  I finished the card off by stamping that gorgeous sentiment (another SSS goodie!) and rounded three of the corners of the stamped panel, before adhering the lot to a dark green cardbase.

To give a final little bit of interest, I adhered the third poinsettia to the top left, using dimensional adhesive. This gives a nice extra point of interest, without overwhelming the tone-on-tone look of the entire card.

Well that's it for me!

Thank you so much to Simon Says Stamp for sending me the beautiful die! It's going to get used a LOT, I can already tell.

See you again soon!

I'm super excited to be here today because it's time for the...*drumroll*

So we thought we'd all get our holiday-themed thinking hats on and create a whole PILE of projects for you to hop along and enjoy!

You should have come here direct from the mothership herself, the Hero Arts blog!  (There's a full list of hop participants at the bottom of this post).

If you happen to find a link that doesn't work, you can hop back to the Hero Arts Blog for a list of direct links to all the blogs in today's hop.

Giveaway - We stashed away THREE of the November 2015 My Monthly Hero kits to giveaway to readers of this hop.
The winners will be randomly chosen from all of the blog hop comments, across all blogs, received by 11:59pm PST on Sunday, November 22nd. Check the Hero Arts blog for the announcement of the winner on Tuesday, November 24th.

Ok so here is my card:

see that shine?!

I took a piece of off-white cardstock and stamped the gorgeous geometric star from Hero's new Joy to the World stamp set, multiple times using Versamark ink. Then I heat embossed it with gold embossing powder.

Next I stamped the sentiment using Hero Arts Black Dye Ink, and went about 'offsetting' all those big stars, with lots of little teeny ones. All stamps are from that same set. Talk about a good 'un!

That's it!

I hope you like!

Lawn Fawn cups--thanks for picking me up

Hello!

I thought I'd share a card I made that was intended for publication but due to life getting "in the way", I missed the deadline (shame coz I actually like it!)

I'm also going to be putting it in to the SSS Wednesday Challenge this week which is to give THANKS/THANKSGIVING, as well as the current Lawnscaping Challenge theme of Thinking of you (as it's a thanks for encouragement/help card).

To start out, I took a piece of Neenah Desert Storm Cardstock and folded it into a card.  I then stamped multiple Lawn Fawn cups from the Love you a Latte set, all over the cardstock using Hero Arts Wet Cement Ink.  (to save time I used several stamps on the one acrylic block and just kept turning it and twisting it to adjust the angle :))

Next I stamped and diecut around 15 more cups, this time using Copic-friendly cardstock and Black Dye ink from My Favourite Things.

I then coloured them in with copics :)

Finally I used a sentiment from I have no idea where (if you know, drop me a comment :)) because I loved the double meaning of the coffee/caffeine pick-up and the friendship one :)

Then I adhered the cups so they 'overlapped' their tone-on-tone stamped versions!

Hope you like :)

Have a crafty day!

CASEing KELLY!

Hello friends!

It's been SUCH a long time but I'm so very excited to be here today because I, along with MANY of my friends am here to celebrate the darling, ridiculously talented, kick-ass KELLY LATEVOLA.

You may or may not know, that one year ago, Kelly started a new series on her blog called CASEing Genius. She takes three cards from someone crafty, and makes her own inspired project from them.

We all got together and thought it would be fun to do the same with Kelly's incredible work!

Here are the three cards I cased...

and here is my VERY poor take on her genius..

I went with bright colours, watercolour and big bold sentiments.

Kelly--you are seriously SUCH an inspiration to me and you've got literally NO idea how amazingly talented you are. I'm so excited to get to see what you create each week, and to be your friend.

Congrats on your milestone :) Here's to many many more!

Metallic with flowers

Hi there friends

sorry it's been forever! Life just plain ol' got in the way :)

I'm showing you my card for the August challenge with Neat and Tangled, over at A Blog Named Hero. The theme is

yay! Such a fun style.

I used a We R Memory Keepers embossing folder to create the print on the foil sheet, and deliberately chose the softest prettiest flowers to counteract the harshness of the foil. I love the balance.

If you play along with the challenge you could win a

You are my Sunshine

Hello friends!

We're playing along with a new collaboration partner at A Blog Named Hero and this month it's the delightful May Arts!

https://www.mayarts.com/

May Arts make the most incredibly beautiful ribbons and trims and they work so very beautifully with Hero Arts products!

Here is my card

I used the May Arts 3/4 Inch Chevron Striped Ribbon and the rest of my products are shown below in the inlinkz collection.

To create this card I stamped the friendship definition stamp onto Neenah kraft cardstock, using Hero Arts Wet Cement Shadow Ink then the butterflies over top with Black Hero Arts Dye Ink. I then coloured them heavily using my Prismacolour Pencils, making sure to blend really well with all the colours.  I then added some extra touches to the butterflies with a white gel pen, and a sentiment from Hero Arts.

I added the YUMMY chevron twill ribbon, and some enamel dots, before adding the entire panel to a Hero Arts Layering Paper-cardbase, on dimensional adhesive.

So easy and fun, and SUCH a cool effect.

I do hope you'll come back every day this week to see the rest of the teams' efforts!

Thank you so much to May Arts for joining us this month!

See you again soon!
