May Arts and Hero Arts

Hi!

Today is the start of a week-long adventure over on ABNH, where we combine our favourite company Hero Arts, with the amazing GORGEOUS May Arts ribbons~love.

I decided to go with a layout... here is the finished product, before I go into a micro-tutorial about how I acheieved this look.

I had a little stash of ribbon to play with thanks to the wonderful Bethney at May Arts, and the Frayed Rosettes ribbon stood out at me. It had potential :)

This is what it looks like 'normal' laid out on my non-stick craft mat

and then, taking my Dylusions and Tattered Angels spray inks, I sprayed over the entire ribbon, careful to spray in 'stripes' across the ribbon, so only small sections would be coloured.

yes this photo is upside down ...

I made sure to overlap the colours of spray just a little, so I'd get a nice even ombre effect, rather than sharp lines of contrast between colours.

I dried the ribbon CAREFULLY with my heat gun (and with several paper towels), and let it sit aside for a bit.

Then it was on to bringing the rest of the layout together!! Here are a few detail shots.

Some ink splatters and (true) sentiments)
I swear this photo didn't look so blue in photoshop...

Some more fun stamping. There is a line of yellow stamping above the pink but it's so subtle it didn't show up in the photo. It's definitely easier to see in real life.

love that arrow stamp!

And here is the full layout again.

OK! that's it for me, be sure to head over to the ABNH blog, to see the rest of the DT's fabulous creations, today and for the rest of this week!

Thanks for stopping by!
