Hey Howdy Hey there--
Back for card Number 2?? Well here 'tis!
The 'watercoloured' piece I used for the main section on this card was from my playing yesterday.
After I finished 'painting' yesterday's card with the Mister Huey's, I had heaps of ink left on my craft mat. Never one to waste good ink, I took another full sheet of the Simon Says Stamp Watercolor paper, added some more water to the inks on my craft mat, then placed the paper right onto the mat, twisted it this way, and that. Then I got a lovely mottled, mixed up effect of the colours.
To add a bit of extra interest, I then placed the Studio Calico Intertwined circles mask over the top, spritzed with Mister Huey's Dewey (gorgeous bluey-green) and dried it with my heat gun.
I had the heat embossed sentiment on vellum from yesterday, so I used that and added a brad that had been rolling around on my desk for weeks. (I have no idea where it came from LOL)
Next I stamped the row of butterflies from Hero Arts in black ink, trimmed the cardstock down and rounded one corner :)
Then I took a Pool notecard and stamped the newspaper background image in Pool Shadow Ink. Lovely tone on tone.
The main piece felt a bit lost on the pool notecard, so I took some Hero Arts Pool ink, smeared it directly on some scrap pool notecard (from a failed card last week that had to be taken apart), then used that as a matte.
I popped the central piece up on some dimensional adhesive and declared the card to be finished :)
I like it, simple, but pretty. I'm still in love with that dreamy background piece that's covered in Mister Huey's.
Here are the goodies you'll need to pick up from Simon Says Stamp if you want to try this:
Thanks so much for stopping by!! Card 3 will be up next!
