Inspired by Lisa Spangler

Hiya!

I'm not doing very well with this blogging break am I?! :)

Anyhoo, we're doing yet another challenge over at ABNH, this week's theme is to make a project based on a Hero Arts Artist who inspires you!! (How easy is that?!)

I made two cards actually, but I'll just share the one today :)

Today's card was inspired by Lisa Spangler (she does beautiful cards ALL the time, but I especially love her acetate ones).

I took some pool layering paper, scored and folded it in half to make a notecard.
I then took some acetate (I just use overhead projector sheets I bought from the stationery store!) and stamped it in white Colorbox ink (it's still not dry three days later LOL).

To do the flower, I coloured the stamp in with Distress Markers, then spritzed it gently with water before stamping it. I then waited for the image to dry and diecut it out with the matching die. I added a little Star Dust Stickles just to give the flower a little somethin' somthin'.

I adhered the flower CAREFULLY onto the acetate using dimensional adhesive, and then added the sentiment strip, which I stamped with Versafine ink. (thank you Chari!! Its amazing!)

To finish it off, I adhered the acetate down to the notecard and added two small strips of AC Glitter tape (this stuff is AWESOME!)

Here you can see the pretty shimmery shine :)

I hope you like!

This was a fun card to make!

I'll be back soon!

Linda xx

  1. For one of my attempts with this technique I also used the Color Box white ink. Did yours ever dry? I thought about clear-embossing mine to make it set, but eventually just threw that piece away. :(

I'm thinking who *I* want to use as my muse. Hmmm ...

  2. So beautiful, Linda!! I absolutely love the stamping on acetate. I've never been brave enough to try it myself, but I may have to. Love the watercolored/die-cut flower. So shimmery and lovely. Such a pretty card. :)
