SOS Challenge Oldest Embelly!

Hiya!

First of all a small announcement, this will be my final SOS post. I've decided to step down from the DT. Bubs is due in about 8 weeks and I don't want to be unable to fulfil my responsibilities with SOS and leave the other gorgeous T ladies having to cover for me. I do hope that at some stage Ill be able to join in on challenges when time permits (if it does with three little ones!), because the SOS team really are the loveliest group of ladies and have been so supportive and sweet. ill miss being a sort of the team very badly. ladies--I thank you for a really fabulous year!! But now its time for a new challenge over at SOS, and this week we challenge you to use your oldest embellishment!

ACK I struggled with this one, partly because I don't have many old embellishments (at all) and the ones I have are all flowers (lol)

Finally, the heavens parted, angels sang, and an idea came to me :)

I got this Some Odd Girl stamp on a whim recently after seeing my sweet friend Lenny use the brand several times (with delightful results!).

I coloured her in with copics and added some Clearsnap Smooch Glitz on her wings. Purdy :)

That's it for me! I hope you like it! I'm kind of in love :)

Please head on over to the SOS blog, to see what the rest of the DT has made. As always, we'd love it if you could join us!

Thanks so much for stopping by-I'd love to hear what you think!

Hi friends!!

This week over at ABNH, we're teaming up with Neat and Tangled to show how great N&T and Hero Arts products work together!

Here is my card, which is up on the blog today

I took the Hero ArtsEtched Daisy stamp, and stamped it repeatedly (and overlapping slightly) using Pale Tomato, Butterbar and Bubble Gum Shadow Inks. I'm definitely going to be trying this technique again with a variation of colours. Love the effect.

Then, to get the little 'matte' piece (the darker pink/red piece) to match perfectly, I swiped the Pale Tomato ink directly onto a strip of scrap cardstock then cut two TEENY thin strips out of it, and adhered them to either side of the stamped panel. This ensures the colour matches perfectly AND I save on cardstock :)

The sentiment is from N&T :) Love this one.

Be sure to stop by and leave a comment on the blog each day this week, as there is a chance to win a fabulous prize pack thanks to the generous and super-sweet Danielle!

There are lots more inspirational projects over at the Neat and Tangled Blog too :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Linda xoxo

SOS challenge 105 Oldest Stamp

Hiya!

This week at

we're challenging you to use your oldest stamp!

Challenge 105: Jun 11 -  Oldest stamp

Now I'm not sure exactly which is my OLDEST but I sure picked one that's been in my stash since I started cardmaking three years ago :)

Here is my card!

To create this, I used some watercolour paper and Dylusions spray inks for the background (lots of fun, easy misting!)

For the front panel, I stamped the Hero Arts Letter stamp (my oldest) using Versafine Smokey Grey ink (new and I LOVE IT). I actually stamped it off gently once onto scratch paper, then stamped onto this panel of neenah and put a lot of pressure on the stamp. This gave a lighter appearance to the ink and made it less perfect (which is what I wanted)

Next I took the House Mouse stamp Helping Hand (which has a little mouse holding this flower up) and carefully covered the mouse (and his little hand) with washi tape while I inked up the rest of the image.

Then I stamped onto Neenah cardstock, and using a fineliner pen, I hand-drew in the little bit that was missing from the flower stem (that I'd covered up because that's where the mouse's hand is).

I coloured using my beloved Prismacolor pencils.  To make this panel look older, I added some Antique Linen distress ink CAREFULLY to the piece, and then roughed up the edges with my fingernail before swiping a tiny bit of Walnut Stain distress ink just to the very edges. I love how it turned out!

Lastly I added the XOXO sentiment (from Hero Arts set) and some twine before adhering it all together.

Lots of fun and I'm so happy with the result!

Now, head over to the SOS blog and share your creations with us!

Hope to see you there!
