Shopping Our Stash Challenge 82: WINTER!

Hiya!

I'm here with this week's Shopping Our Stash challenge theme, and my inspirational project to hopefully kick-start your creative mojo!

PLEASE NOTE: this is a TWO WEEK challenge, so we will NOT be having a challenge on Christmas day :) This one runs December 18-December 31.

The theme for this one is WINTER (but not Christmas). So think, cold, snow, jackets/jumpers, scarves etc. BRR

So recently, I stumbled across Christy Tomlinson on youtube. Well... frankly I'm totally smitten. Her style is adorable, her talent is AMAZEBALLS, and her voice (and accent) is even better :) So i've been playing with the Mixed Media Canvas-style lately...so I went with that for this challenge :)

I added dots of diamond stickles all over the finished canvas, as snow, a little to the snowflakes (a template from Dylusions) and the thickers too. "Outside" is stamped using Hero Arts alpha stamps :)

Some doodling on her dress, outlining each part of her outfit. Plus I just LOVE the texture you get over the entire canvas from adding the Mod Podge at the end to seal it. I keep running my fingers over it.

This scarf flying away in the wind. Can I just say, I could cry I'm so happy it worked the way I had it in my head?! (this rarely happens LOL). I used some Claudine Helmuth sticky back canvas, just ripped a strip, painted it red (using my fingers to work the paint into the fibres) and then put it on her. I overlapped at the neck part, so it'd look like it's actually wrapped around her neck. I added teeny yellow dots using the end of a paint-brush 'lid'

love love love. I'm so happy.

Off to paint some more!

Be sure to stop by the blog to see the rest of the DT's projects! Amazing as always!

tangled up in Christmas!

Hiya!!

tangledinxmas

I'm over at Neat and Tangled today to show you some ways to get even more out of your stamps.

I've made two Christmas cards, using very few Christmas-themed stamps.

Such a fun, bright card, using stamps in a totally different way than expected!

And the second card! A totally different look, but fun to do nonetheless!

I really love how this little scene came together quite quickly and only used one christmas set. (for the presents and the sentiment). You could easily have substituted something else for the same type of scene though.

For full details on what I did to create these cards, please visit the Neat and Tangled blog!

Well that's it for me!

I hope I've given you some ideas on how to use your stamp sets in a way you might not have thougth of!

Don't forget the challenges over at the Little Tangles Challenge blog! We'd love to see what you make--perhaps something inspired by today's post?

See you again soon!

SOS #81!!

Hello!

It's time for another Shopping Our Stash challenge and this is a great one!

Sentimentally Yours- use a sentiment/quote as focal point- no images

NICE huh?! hmmm and maybe a bit challenging.

So here's what I came up with...

I had SO much fun making this card and can I say FAST?! SO FAST!! (you'll notice that as a recurring theme for me lately :))

So I started out with some Bazzille cardshoppe cardstock in pretty pinky-peach, then cut and scored it, before I added a post-it note to the front to create a mask. Then I stamped the Impression Obsession Herringbone in White Colorbox ink.

Next I stamped the Mama Elephant 'warm' stamp with black Versafine ink, and then I heat embossed it with clear over the top.  (I'm ok with the slight imperfection in the clear embossing over the top, it's mostly lined up)

finally I added the teeny tiny 'wishes' sentiment (also from Mama Elephant) and I added the gemstones too.

Love how easy that masking was, and how much of a statement it makes the middle of the card! LOVE.

Ok, head over to the blog with me to check out the rest of the DT's work!

We'd love it if you'd join us!

Back soon!

Celebrate the Good Times

Hi again!

I'm back with yet another card I made using those adorable Mama Elephant stamps!! So fun to play with!

yay!

lots of fun and easy too :)

I started with some distress ink resist over the triangle background :) Then I added the penguin, balloons and sentiment strip.

All pretty self explanatory!

For some extra fun, I added glossy accents to the balloons. The strings are hand-drawn :)

Hope you liked!
